I graduated from high school at the Schadau campus in Thun. I began to study medicine at the University of Bern in 2001 and completed my medical degree successfully in 2009. I then worked as a surgical resident at the hospitals in Münsingen and Thun. From 2014 to 2016 I was a resident/ward physician in ophthalmology at the Vista eye hospital in Binningen, and then held the same function at Basel University Eye Hospital. I returned to the Vista eye hospital in Binningen for a year in 2017. I have been part of the team of specialist physicians at the Muttenz-Pratteln ophthalmological center since 2018. I passed the European and Swiss exam to qualify as a specialist in ophthalmology in Paris in 2019, and was awarded the Swiss (FMH) and European (FEBO) specialist titles in ophthalmology. In addition to my mother tongues, German and Tamil, I speak English and French fluently.
